The Legal Aid and Awareness movement, whereby not only we educate people but we give core legal services as well as para-legal services, as a mechanism for social progress is something that has been repeatedly stressed upon by the Government of India. In the backdrop of multi-facet diversities that our country face in the nature of poverty and inequality, Legal Aid is an effective tool to address the menace of Socio-economic and Political injustices based on the values enshrined in our Constitution by virtue of the Directive Principles of State Policy.
The establishment of the Innovative Institute of Law at Gr. Noida in the National Capital Region of Delhi has opened the gateway to work towards the above cause in a greater way. Through a mutually beneficial process of exchange of ideas, awareness is spread amongst the masses not only about their theoretical legal rights and duties, but the emphasis is laid on how to implement the same; and our students of law get appropriate exposure with respect to various problems associated with the ‘real-practical world’, thereby adding soul to their skeletal theoretical knowledge on the subject.
Our aim is to spread legal awareness amongst students and people at large. We seek to do this by carrying out various programs in the nature of public speaking, awareness camps, seminars, legal counseling, poster making and street plays etc. To further advance the said cause, we make our students play an active role in the Coordinating Committee for Intra-State Networking of Law Schools, which is a program conceptualised by us for law colleges in and around NCR of Delhi.
